Tohoku University is now accepting additional recruitment for the 2022 Global Hagi Scholarship for Doctoral Students.
Global Hagi Scholarship is for exceptional doctoral students who possess an abundance of both motivation to study at this University and talent, thus providing an environment in which these students can dedicate themselves to academic research.

International Students are also welcome to apply!

1. Scholarship Eligibility
Student in his/her 2nd-year of a master's program or 1st-year doctoral program as of April 2022 and fulfills all of the below requirements. (Students enrolled under Special Selection Program for Working Adults are excluded.)

1) Having a strong desire to continue from a master's to a doctoral program at Tohoku University.

2) Be of excellent character and in excellent academic standing

3) Not be a recipient of certain scholarships or grants provided by this university

4) Not be a recipient of certain scholarships, stipends, etc. provided by institutions or other private organizations outside of this university.

2. Amount and Delivery of Scholarship Payment
JPY 600,000 per year (JPY 50,000 per month)

*The scholarship payment period will not exceed the end of the standard course.

*The scholarship recipient will be screened at the end of March to see if s/he is an appropriate individual to continuously receive the scholarship.

*The scholarship money (JPY 600,000) is transferred to the recipient's bank account in a lump sum in December.

3. Application Deadline
November 15, 2022

4. How to Apply
Submit the application form to Student Support Section, School of Science by November 15, 2022.
