2024 Tokio Marine ASEAN Scholarship (東京海上各務記念財団)

The Tokio Marine Kagami Memorial Foundation(東京海上各務記念財団) invites applications for the 2024 Scholarship for ASEAN International Students in Japan.

▶ Eligibility
・Applicants must be enrolled in a regular graduate course as of April 2024. (Excluding those who have less than one year remaining in their current course)
・Applicants must be citizens of one of the ASEAN countries (*).
(Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam)
・Applicants need to have communication skills in Japanese or be willing to learn Japanese.
・Those who are not receiving any other scholarships or research support.
・Those who are interested in international exchange and can actively participate in various activities.

▶ Notes on Japanese language ability
・Applicants do not need to have high Japanese language skills; those who are willing to learn Japanese are eligible to apply.
・The interview will be conducted in Japanese, but it is possible to switch to English during the interview. The current level of Japanese will not affect the selection process.
・In principle, application documents should be written in Japanese, and attaching documents in English can be allowed to describe research details.

▶ Scholarship Amount
180,000 yen/month

▶ Duration
From April 2024 to the end of the stipulated studying period in the regular course

1. Application Forms (Excel); four sheets: Scholarship application, Self-assessment form, A curriculum vitae, Personal statement
※ As for 自己申告書 (jiko shinkokusho, personal statement), you are allowed to attach an English translation.
※ On the monthly budget summary part, the tuition fee column needs to be filled 44.65千円 even if you are applying for the tuition fee waiver.

3. Academic transcript
4. Recommendation letter by academic advisor
5. Health check-up Certificate
6. Copy of passport
7. Copy of Residence part (both sides)
