2026 SEMMOTO Scholarship Foundation(公益財団法人千本財団)[Direct Application to the Foundation]

[Direct Application to the Foundation]

The SEMMOTO Scholarship Foundation has released the 2026 scholarship application information for Master's course students.


◆ Eligibility Requirements:

(1) Visa Status and Nationality
Applicants must currently reside in Japan with the "Student" residence status for academic study and
must hold one of the following nationalities:
Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, United States

(2) Enrollment Status
At the time of application, applicants must meet one of the following conditions:
Enrolled in a Master's program at one of the designated universities in October 2025; or
Expected to enroll in a Master's program at one of the designated universities from April 2026

(3) Age
Applicants must have been born on or after April 1, 1997 (i.e., under 29 years of age as of March 31, 2026).

◆ Scholarship Amount:
120,000 yen/month

◆ Duration:
For students enrolling in October 2025: April 2026 - September 2027 (1.5 years)
For students enrolling in April 2026: April 2026 - March 2028 (2 years)

◆ Application Documents:
Two applications, postal and online, are necessary.
➀Please check the following website for application guidelines and submit the required documents to the foundation directly.
Applications must be postmarked no later than Monday, December 8, 2025.
