    Must Bring:

     

    1. Cash to start your new life in Sendai. (100,000 JPY or more would be sufficient)
    2. Scanned Diploma (or original Certificates of graduation/withdrawal) and your LATEST Academic Transcript [original copies] IF you were a student at the time of IGPAS application.
    3. Three or more ID photos (e.g. 4.5~3.5cm and, or 4~3cm)
      *These are for your Student ID card and Student Record sheet, etc.

     

     

    Advisable:

     

    1. Travel insurance
    2. Personal seal [Hanko or In-kan in Japanese] if you have.
      *Ink free stamps (hanko containing ink cartridge inside) are NOT suitable.
    3. Internationally recognized credit card (e.g. VISA, MASTER etc...)
    4. Scanned Diploma (or scanned Certificate of graduation) and Academic Transcripts for your future use.
      (Especially for the Self-financed students who are seeking to apply for scholarships after their enrollment)

    Currency Exchange

    Check the availability of currency exchange from your country's to Japanese yen (JPY) in advance. The exchange service from Chinese yuan to Japanese yen is particularly limited other than branches located at the airports.

    If you cannot exchange into Japanese yen right after your arrival, you should better prepare some amount in Japanese yen before your departure, and/or take your credit card with you.

     


    Sendai Airport

    The 77 Bank currency exchange service (Bills only, Chinese yuan OK) open 9am to 3pm everyday.
    *There used be a post office branch available too, but was closed in February 2012.

     

     

    Narita Airport

    Several banks offer the currency exchange service in Narita Airport everyday from early in the morning till late at night. Check the following website for details.

    Banks in central Sendai city

    Major currency such as U.S. dollars and Euro can be exchanged to Japanese yen at branches that offer exchange services. Note that not all branches have the service, and they will be closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and Japanese holidays.

    *The 77 Bank Main Branch offers chinese yuan.
