  • Scholarships

It is your responsibility to find a scholarship if necessary.
You will have some chances to apply for scholarships after you acutually become a student at our school. Unfortunately there are only few scholarships that accepts application before your enrollment (=application from prospective students).
Note that most scholarships, especially those of private foundations, usually require applicants to have an adequate Japanese language skill.

Tohoku University may waive the students' admission fee and/or tuition in cases that the student or his/her financial sponsor (e.g. parents) have difficulties paying the fee(s) due to compelling reasons. It is open to all the degree students including Japanese students.

Note that the results for Fall semester will be announced in around the middle of December, 2014.
You should also get prepared for all the fees in case you didn't get waived.

In case a student cannot pay the admission and/or tuition fees by the due dates for legitimate reasons (e.g. your scholarship covers the fees but you receive the money after the due date), Tohoku University will allow those students to have a late payment due date upon request.
