Response to Ebola hemorrhagic fever outbreak


The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology has requested your cooperation with the following.


1. Postpone any unnecessary/non-urgent trips to regions currently undergoing Ebola outbreaks (Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Democratic Republic of the Congo).


2. If you do have plans to visit Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, or the Democratic Republic of the Congo, please submit the necessary form to the Office of Educational Affairs at your faculty or graduate school. (The form can be downloaded from the Student Health Care Center.)


3. When departing to/returning from Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, or the Democratic Republic of the Congo, follow all instructions given by quarantine officials.


4. If you experience a fever within one month of leaving Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, or the Democratic Republic of the Congo, do NOT go to a medical facility or Student Health Care Center.*Stay in your home and contact the Student Health Care Center by e-mail or call the Public Health Department (Hokenjo). If you contact the Public Health Department, please also inform the Student Health Care Center by e-mail.

*Minimize contact with other people as much as possible.
