International Workshop on Fundamental and Applied Research of Novel Nanocarbon Derivatives -Toward Bottom-Up Approach to Nanotechnology Era- was held on 17th May. The organizer of this workshop is the base of Key Interdisciplinary Research, which is recognized by Tohoku University in order to advance the research of atom endohedral fullerenes. In this workshop, Dr. Eiji Osawa, Dr. Eleanor Campbell, Dr. Mats Jonson, and other researchers, who are opinion leaders in this field, gave intriguing talks, and participants discussed intensely.
